After watching this incredible movie, I've decided it needs promoting. I've watched half of it two weeks ago and only now managed to watch this 2 hr show fully at my father's place. This show is not your typical Rob Zombie show( if that is his name). It's not filled with horror and annoying sudden loud music. Heck, even the music is so good I placed it on my blog!
So what's so different about this? God, there IS no similarity to other movies and the plot is so well-crafted and totally realistic. Seriously, it makes you tether at the edge of your seat sometimes but the best thing thats awes you is how realistic is and makes you wonder if there is such an outbreak of virus, THIS may be the reality.
So the story starts with the scene of a group of survivors hiding in a cottage having dinner. The story focuses mainly on a couple, Alice and Don. An uninfected boy arrives, bringing along some unwanted company chasing after him and discovering their hideout. In the midst of escaping, Alice and the boy gets separated and she tries to find him even though THEY were already at the door.
Don leaves the house with her screaming for him to come to his aid, running away without her.
At this point you may be wondering how is this random couple related to the story. This is where it begins.
28 weeks later two children return to the safe (and extremely-well guarded by the US military, may I add) part of London, safe and sound after their school trip, obviously heard of the traumatic news that their mother is gone. They undergo a checkup with this doctor, a main character, who comments about the son's unique eyes, Andy's, one green and the other brown, inherited from his mother.
Take a guess what that scene is all about.
The city is across the London river and free of infection. The children learn that their father runs the place and they live in a penthouse.(top floor of a building) "I saw her die. She was gone." He relates to them his story.
That night Andy has a bad dream. "I'm afraid I won't remember what Mom looks like anymore," he whispers to Tammy at night.
Next day they are off. Oh no, they're not running away. They'd gone back to their old house to get some of their stuff. More importantly, a picture of mum.
BEST part is, they get back what they thought was lost to them.
Their Mum, alive and breathing, still human.
"You said you saw MUM DIE!" Tammy was screaming inside the room which they were made to wait in much later back at the city. Her dad of course, was trying to cover up his lie.
He was at a loss when he saw her lying on the bed, alone and quiet. "Forgive me Alice. I was scared," he wept. What a bastard. Of course he got a taste of his medicine. Literally, when he kissed her. He got infected. Unfortunately the doctor had just about come to discovering that she was a carrier of the virus despite her not showing any symptoms and seemingly immune. "Her blood could contain a vaccine, even a cure!" she protested against the head of the military. "You can run tests on her dead corpse, Major." he replied.
The virus has spread. Again.
Step One: Shoot target.
If it is spreading,
Step Two: Containment unit.
If it gets out of control... Step 3: Execute Code Red. Kill and exterminate all.
Watch it to see the ending! It is a show worth your time, TRUST ME!
They play the soldiers, Andy, Don(their father in the story) and Tammy. (from left to right)
